Anodyne and sleepy. The lyrics are kinda silly and the instrumentation does very little to mask this fact. Urgh

A very promising lead single (“Nothing Left To Lose”) but the album progressively reveals to me what has possibly always been very simple rhyming schemes in EBTG lyrics, the sort where you know the next line will be before it’s even sung. Can’t quite put my finger on why it’s not forgivable in this instance but it feels like the production draws negative attention to how simple the songs are instead of enhancing this facet.
